Invest in Communities, Not Deportations,
Prison Profiteers, and Weapons Contractors

(May 24, 2025) — It’s a budget betrayal of working families, immigrants, and communities already pushed to the brink.

Congressional Republicans would funnel TRILLIONS to weapons contractors, private prison profiteers, and mass deportation operators. The kicker? They’d gut essential programs like Medicaid and SNAP to pay for it all.

If this bill reaches the President’s desk, it’ll do one thing: Embolden an unaccountable MAGA regime deadset on prioritizing billionaires’ wallets over our communities’ needs.

The House passed this budget reconciliation package early on Thursday — but the vote exposed deep divisions within Republican ranks that could put this bill on thin ice in the Senate. It gives us an opportunity to derail these misguided priorities as this dangerous budget inches closer to the finish line. To seize it, your Senators need to hear from you now:
ACTION: Tell the Senate: Reject this backwards budget. Invest in communities and lifesaving services, not mass deportations, private prison profiteers, and weapons contractors.

The Pentagon has failed every audit — that’s SEVEN in a row.[1] The penalty? Adding $150 BILLION to its already astronomical, near TRILLION topline. If current practice keeps, that means hundreds of BILLIONS to pad the pockets of weapons contractors like Raytheon and Lockheed Martin, whose stock is skyrocketing in anticipation.

Weeks ago, CBS News reported that the Department of Homeland Security illegally and unconstitutionally deported hundreds of migrants to CECOT, a notorious prison in El Salvador.[2] Follow up reporting has uncovered that at least 50 of these individuals had previously been permitted entry into the United States — whether as visa holders, refugees, or parolees.[3] The penalty? $43 BILLION more to supercharge Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests and deportations.

We need investments in care, not cages. Funding cruelty and violence at a massive scale like this won’t keep any of us safer.

If this horrible budget package passes, the Trump administration will not only further cement the United States’ role as the world’s biggest weapons contractor and pay for a bunch of billionaires to get tax breaks, but they’ll also allow ICE to tear thousands more families apart.

Congress must reject this bad bill and stop writing Trump blank checks immediately. It’ll take an all-hands-on-deck effort to do it, and with splinters showing within the Republican caucus, this is our chance.

Let’s demand a budget that reflects our values, not one that fuels fear, suffering, and destruction. Sign now to tell the Senate to prioritize social services that support our communities over ICE and Pentagon profiteers.

Together we can say no to endless wars and tearing families apart.

Thank you for working for peace,
The Win Without War team
