The US and Israel Are Preparing to Attack Iran
Al Mitty
(July 11, 2025) — Widespread evacuations of US personnel across the Middle East are being made, apparently in preparation for a US and Israeli attack on Iran.
Larry Johnson reported yesterday that the commanding general at CENTCOM briefed Donald Trump with attack options that included the possible use of nuclear weapons against Iran.
Johnson has just issued another bulletin that says “apparently Donald Trump has decided to attack Iran” (report copied below). It seems those in the US military who are planning the attack think that it will be a “cakewalk” because Iran lacks air defenses that allow it to defend itself.
I disagree with the idea that Iran is essentially defenseless. Trump is being fed Israeli propaganda, as the Iranian air defense systems are formidable and remain essentially intact (Israel was not able to destroy them in its last attack against Iran, contrary Israeli reports). The US is likely to lose many aircraft if the US Air Force uses them to attack Iran.
The primary targets of the attack would be Iranian nuclear facilities that can enrich uranium. Conventional weapons cannot destroy these targets because they are far too deeply buried (inside mountains), so the attack will likely include “tactical” nuclear weapons to have any chance of success. Iran has already promised to launch a major strike if they are attacked; if the attack employs nuclear weapons, Iran will certainly launch a full-scale attack against Israel and US targets in the Middle East.
US bases in the Middle East would be hit (most bases have no air defense systems) and any US Carrier Battle Groups in range of Iranian missiles will be targeted.
Israel would likely be hit with more than 1000 missiles. Many of these missiles would likely be targeted at Israel’s three largest cities (Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Haifa). Massive destruction would result.
I think Israel would then retaliate against Iran with more widespread nuclear strikes against Iran. Israel has hundreds of nuclear weapons, and has bombers, 4 subs, and missiles that can deliver them. They are already busy committing genocide against the Palestinians and clearly have not moral qualms about committing mass murder.
If Trump gives the order for this attack on Iran to take place, we will be lucky to escape a much larger war that includes other nuclear weapon states. Russia and China have been conducting military exercises with Iran for 5 years. China relies on Iran for much of its oil supplies (which is one of the main reasons the US might go ahead with this attack). Iran will shut down the Hormuz Straits, shutting off 20% of the world’s oil supplies; Iran might also hit other oil refineries in the Gulf that would further reduce global oil supplies (this will crash global markets). Russia and China have many reasons to support Iran; will they do if Iran is attacked by the US?
BREAKING: US Evacuating Non-Essential
Personnel Across Middle East — Reports
The National Pulse
(June 11, 2025) — Multiple voluntary evacuation authorizations have been approved for US diplomatic and military facilities throughout the Middle East. The notices come amid increasing speculation that Israel may be poised to launch a military strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Who’s Involved: The United States, Israel, Iran, Bahrain, Kuwait, and the United Kingdom.
The United States government is authorizing the evacuation of all non-essential embassy personnel and dependents of US military service members across the Middle East, amid heightened tensions with the Islamic Republic of Iran. While the exact reason for the evacuations is currently unclear, the Iranian government has stated it will strike US and allied military assets across the region if they are attacked. This has led to rampant speculation that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may be on the precipice of approving a military strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Rumors of potential military action were sparked early Wednesday by an advisory from the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operation (UKMTO) office. The advisory stated that vessels were to use caution when transiting the Straits of Hormuz, Gulf of Oman, and Arabian Gulf. The UKMTO office warned that increasing military tensions in the region justified the advisory.
This announcement was followed by a notice preparing for the evacuation of non-essential US embassy personnel in Baghdad, Iraq, early Wednesday afternoon. Several hours later, advisories authorizing the evacuation of non-essential embassy personnel in Kuwait and Bahrain were also issued. Additionally, the US naval base in Bahrain announced that dependents of US military service members could evacuate the region as well.
Subsequently, the Associated Press (AP) reported that the voluntary evacuation authorization has been extended to dependents of US military service members across the entire Middle East.
Is Donald Trump Starting World War III with Iran?

(June 11, 2025) — I have just landed in Dubai. It is midnight local, which is 4pm eastern daylight savings time. I have been greeted by the following messages:
Iraqi sources report increased military air activity in the skies above western Iraq following recent regional tensions.
Evacuation of non-essential personnel has reportedly begun at the US Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.
The White House says President Trump is aware of and monitoring the withdrawal of non-essential personnel and military families from the Middle East.
The US State Department has also authorized the evacuation of non-essential employees and family members from Kuwait – AP
Donald Trump apparently has decided to attack Iran. Mark this date. It is the beginning of the end of the Trump Presidency. Trump has been persuaded that the Iranian air defense is weak and that a US bombing run will eliminate any chance that Iran can build a nuclear device. He has been a victim of lies. He will shortly discover, if these attacks take place, that Iran retains a significant capability to shoot down US aircraft. In fact, I fully expect Iran will capture and put on display several US air force officers in the next week.
If Trump launches this attack, Iran will retaliate against US bases and Israel. Israel, for the first time in 77 years, will suffer devastating losses. If Trump thought the Houthis were a tough customer, he’s going to learn a hard lesson with Iran.
Maybe I am wrong. Maybe the US will destroy critical infrastructure in Iran and Iran will not be able to respond. I do not think that is likely. If the US carries out these strikes, this will create significant problems with Putin and likely derail efforts to normalize relations. China also will react strongly to any US attack on Iran.
Dear President Trump, for the love of God, STOP!
US Reduces the Presence of Nonessential
Staffers as Tensions Rise in the Middle East
Matthew Lee, Tara Copp and Jon Gambrel / Associated Press
WASHINGTON (June 11, 2025) — The United States is drawing down the presence of staffers who are not deemed essential to operations in the Middle East and their loved ones due to the potential for regional unrest, the State Department and military said Wednesday.
The State Department said it has ordered the departure of all nonessential personnel from the US Embassy in Baghdad based on its latest review and a commitment “to keeping Americans safe, both at home and abroad.” The embassy already had been on limited staffing, and the order will not affect a large number of personnel.
The department, however, also is authorizing the departure of nonessential personnel and family members from Bahrain and Kuwait. That gives them the option of leaving those countries at government expense and with government assistance.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth “has authorized the voluntary departure of military dependents from locations” across the region, US Central Command said in a statement. The command “is monitoring the developing tension in the Middle East.”
