ALERT: Peace Groups’ Urgent Call: “No War on Iran!”

June 20th, 2025 - by Iranian Women for Peace and Freedom & National Iranian American Council

به ایران را متوقحمله ف کنید Stop Attack on Irán
Iranian Women for Peace and Freedom

Israel and the United States must end their attacks on Iran. This war was imposed on Iran, and we are defending our country. We must stop the warmongers and pursue peace. These attacks not only endanger the lives of thousands, but also destroy our country’s infrastructure and cause countless suffering and pain to innocent families.

War has never been a solution to political differences. We must return to diplomacy and seek peaceful solutions to prevent further bloodshed and destruction. Foreign interventions only intensify conflicts and fuel resentment.

The international community must be pressured to tell the aggressor governments that these actions are not only inhumane but also contrary to international law. Listen to the voices of the Iranian people who are calling for calm and peace.

Please sign this petition so that together we can be the voice of oppressed Iranians against warmongering and help stop the attacks on Iran.

No War With Iran Action
Myriam Sabbaghi / National Iranian American Council

Thank you all so much for attending our No War with Iran Action Hours this week. For many of us, it’s been a nightmare watching the horrifying news, trying to check in on our loved ones, and organizing all at the same time. Even just simply showing up to virtual and/or in-person rallies this week is a huge accomplishment.

As of today, President Trump has approved plans to strike Iran’s Fordow facility, but hasn’t provided the final green light for the U.S. to strike Fordow and hence directly get involved in the Israel-Iran war without Congressional authorization. Polling this week shows that 69% of all Americans, including 64% of Republicans, as well as recent polling of 62% of Iranian Americans, prefer a negotiated deal to military confrontation with Iran.

In the meantime, we need to keep up the pressure and make sure that your MoCs support and sign on to the Iran War Powers Resolutions in the House and

* NIAC’s Social Media Toolkit: No War With Iran – this contains sample language for social media posts and text messages, please share this toolkit with your networks!

* Keep messaging Congress to Oppose War with Iran – amplify your impact by sharing this action alert with your networks!

* Call Congress and leave voicemails to your Members of Congress – amplify your impact by sharing our call page with your networks!

* Organize and/or attend a local rally or vigil near you. Please print out flyers and posters and tag your affiliated orgs and @niacouncil on IG! There’s a candlelight vigil organized by NIAC, Peace Action, and faith leaders happening in New York City today Friday, June 20 @ 4:30pm ET and a protest in San Francisco happening on Friday, June 20 at 5pm PT in front of the SF Federal Building (90 7th Street, SF). Please flag verified rallies my way so I can promote them as well.

Many of you have been creative in taking more action beyond just signing petitions and calling Congress. Folks here have been leaving printed copies of our materials in neighbors’ mailboxes, organizing candlelight vigils and rallies, setting up constituent meetings with their Members of Congress and recruiting friends to join, and launching Instagram pages highlighting the casualties of the Israel-Iran war.

Please keep being creative as possible as key Members of Congress are finally speaking up, which could change the trajectory of the war. If you have any questions on how else to take action, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
In solidarity,
Myriam Sabbaghi, NIAC National Organizing Director
Ploughshares Fieldbuilding Committee Member & 2025 40 Under 40 Awardee of the Middle East Policy Council www.niacouncil.org
