Urgent: Israel Just Kidnapped Our Friends

(October 2, 2025) — After terrorizing the Global Sumud Flotilla with drones and water cannons – the Israeli military boarded the ships full of humanitarians and activists and abducted them. This includes our friends and co-organizers Adnaan and Torleif Stumo. The current status of Adnaan and his boat, Mikeno, is unknown but assumed to be intercepted. However, his boat made history by being able to reach Palestinian water and technically break the illegal siege on Gaza. 

Israel has talked about the people aboard the flotilla like they were terrorists. Is it terrorism to bring ships filled with aid to the starving people of Gaza? Is it terrorism to try and open a humanitarian corridor into a blockaded and besieged land? The people on the flotilla were merely trying to carry out what every person ought to see as their human responsibility – end the genocide in Gaza.

Where the international institutions have failed to act in the wake of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians being killed by Israel, the brave participants on the flotilla dared to try and put a stop to it. In their attempt, they are further exposing Israel’s brutality to their home countries.

Join us in sounding the alarm for our friends on the flotilla. Israel threatened to charge them with terrorism charges if they attempted to sail to Gaza. Now, our friends are likely in Israeli prison. The first thing we need to do is raise as much awareness about Adnaan, Torleif, and all the other flotilla participants. Everyone needs to know what Israel is doing.

Senator, I am calling because the Global sumud Flotilla, the people-led humanitarian mission to bring aid to Gaza was illegally boarded by the Israeli military and citizens from over 40 countries worldwide were kidnapped. Two of these citizens are constituents of yours, Adnaan and Torleif. It is your job to ensure the safety and release of your constituents.

All their mission consisted of was getting humanitarian aid into Gaza where our government is complicit in committing genocide, as designated by the UN, Out international world powers have done nothing to stop the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians by Israel with American dollars.

When US citizens decide to take it upon themselves to relieve the people of Gaza from blockage and genocide, in a legal and peaceful way, the Israeli military has no right to attack them relentlessly and to kidnap them. Please protect the flotilla and the people on it, especially your constituents.

We will keep you updated as the situation develops. Once we hear from our comrades, we will let you know what support they need. For now, keep raising your voice for Gaza, for Palestine, and for the flotilla.
