(November 21, 2025) — Felon and fraud Donald Trump has ordered the Pentagon to begin nuclear weapons testing immediately. This reckless command, announced without debate or oversight, threatens to drag Nevada back into a nightmarish era we thought we’d never revisit.

For Native communities in Nevada, these are not abstract headlines. Our lands hold sacred sites, and our ecosystems already bear the scars of past testing. Our families remember the fallout all too clearly. Resuming nuclear tests risks irreversible environmental damage, long-term health consequences, and desecration of places we hold sacred.

This isn’t politics – it’s survival.

Trump’s impulse to weaponize fear and spectacle, to treat national security like a headline, is exactly how authoritarians consolidate power. He doesn’t act alone. His allies in Congress enable him, and every unchecked week makes it easier for them to normalize chaos.

That’s why building Native power is essential: to defend our communities, defend our land, and defend democracy.

If we fail to act, the costs will be paid in ruined land, damaged health, and permanent loss of sacred places. We will not stand by.
