ACTION ALERT:
Stop Trump’s F-35 Sale to Saudi Arabia
World BEYOND War
(November 24, 2025) — Donald Trump just announced plans to sell F-35 jets ― some of the most advanced military technology in the world ― to Saudi Arabian dictator Mohammed bin Salman (MBS).
Congress can stop this by announcing plans to introduce a Joint Resolution of Disapproval. The time to act is now, and they need to hear our voices to do it.
This is the same dictator who ordered the murder and dismemberment of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi, and who has killed tens of thousands of civilians in Yemen and maintaining a blockade that has starved millions more.
Saudi Arabia has never been fully investigated for its potential role in the September 11 attacks, and the regime carries out some of the highest numbers of executions of dissidents in the world. They have no elections, no democratic rights, and no real legitimacy of any kind. The U.S. has spent decades paying lip service to democracy to justify regime change wars, so it is beyond hypocrisy for the U.S. to sell its most advanced jets to one of the least democratic and most repressive regimes on earth.
American leaders should not be giving the most advanced lethal arms to dictators who murder dissidents and starve civilian populations. Period.
But Trump and his administration want to deepen ties with MBS’s brutal regime, potentially even including a mutual defense pact. This F-35 sale would be the first step toward a commitment to put American lives and resources on the line to defend the Saudi dictatorship.
Trump and his family members, like Jared Kushner, are directly financially entangled with the Saudi regime as it attempts to buy their loyalty and sway U.S. policy in the region. Congress needs to check this corrupt cycle and stop the Saudi regime from reaping major rewards from this arrangement.
Saudi Arabia was widely condemned for bombing Yemeni civilian infrastructure with the jets and missiles we already gave them. We should not be selling them jets that are even more lethal. We should be demanding that Saudi Arabia sign a real peace deal to permanently end their aggression against Yemen and fund reconstruction for the destruction they caused.
A Joint Resolution of Disapproval (JRD) is Congress’s most effective tool to check Trump on arms sales to Saudi Arabia. Congress has 30 days to pass a JRD to block a weapons transfer after receiving notification of a sale from the State Department. Senate JRDs can move through a fast-tracked, expedited process and go straight to the floor for a vote without the approval of Senate Republican leadership, as Senator Sanders’ JRDs on weapons sales to Israel did earlier this year.
ACTION ALERT: F-35s to Saudi Arabia
World BEYOND War
(November 29, 2025) — Trump has worked to bestow nuclear technology on Saudi Arabia, and recently excused Saudi Arabia’s murder of a US journalist by calling the journalist “controversial.’ Now Trump wants to ship F-35 stealth warplanes capable of carrying nuclear weapons to Saudi Arabia while personal profiting from business with the royal slaughterhouse.
The likely outcome of this is catastrophic, but we can stop it.
THE LETTER
Dear members of Congress,
I write to urge you to commit to introducing a joint resolution of disapproval (JRD) to block Trump’s immoral and corrupt plan to sell F-35s to Saudi Arabia. As you know, Saudi Arabia is responsible for mass bombing of Yemeni civilians and infrastructure over the past decade, killing tens of thousands, while supporting a blockade that has starved and killed at least hundreds of thousands more. They still have not signed a final peace deal with Yemen or contributed any of the reconstruction funds they owe.
Beyond this, Saudi Arabia is one of the most repressive regimes in the world — executing huge numbers of dissidents, minorities, and nonviolent offenders. They have no elections, no democracy of any kind, and no meaningful claim to democratic legitimacy. They cannot be rewarded with the most advanced U.S. jets ever built — there must be limits to the crimes our partners commit before we hold them accountable.
Further, Trump cannot be allowed to make this deal given to his own long and growing record of personal financial benefits received from this regime, including his family members. Jared Kushner has been given free reign to set Middle East policy for the administration while the Saudis invest hundreds of millions into his own business ventures. Congress should not allow this level of graft and geopolitical quid pro quo, which violates the most basic ethical standards.
I hope you will pledge to introduce or support a JRD and vote to block this sale and I will continue to follow this issue closely.
