(April 6, 2026) — The United States is over a month into an unauthorized war with Iran, and Donald Trump has still yet to define a clear exit strategy.1

Despite campaigning on keeping the U.S. out of forever wars and focusing on an America first agenda, Trump has started another costly regime change war in the Middle East—doing so without the approval of Congress or the support of the American people, putting our troops, our country, and the global economy at risk.

The Trump administration had no business starting this war, with 6 in 10 Americans disapproving of Trump’s handling of the war.2 Now, the Pentagon is requesting at least $200 billion in supplemental funding to keep it going.3

We cannot spend another dollar on Trump’s violent and reckless war.

We’re calling on every single member of Congress to use their power and refuse to give even a single dollar to this war.

(April 3, 2026) — While our country was already in the midst of an economic crisis, Trump started a war instead of working to help the American people. Just this week, Trump said that it wasn’t possible for the federal government to provide Medicare, Medicaid, or child care. “We’re fighting wars. We can’t take care of day care.”4

Trump says there isn’t enough money to ensure Americans are able to afford basic necessities like health care, but he has no problem finding money for war. A war that has already cost the U.S. billions of dollars and hiked up fuel prices across the globe.5

We’re already seeing global economic instability due to this war, and the longer it continues, the more economic strain consumers and businesses will feel.6 Congress has a responsibility to immediately end this war and prioritize the needs of their constituents. The first step is publicly pledging to oppose any amount of supplemental funding for Trump’s war in Iran.
