On October 6th, an email went out to my entire list of over 8,000 people featuring a link to an ABC News article which reported plans of top US military chiefs to fabricate acts of terror on US soil in 1962. The plans, code named Operation Northwoods, were designed to manipulate the American public into supporting a war on Cuba.

I personally checked the link to this ABC article several hours after sending the email. It was still active. As the email also provided a link to the original declassified military documents on the National Security Archives website, the email spread rapidly in the US and even around the globe.

Within three days of this email being sent, the ABC article disappeared from the link provided. This is highly unusual, especially considering that the article had been in the same place on the ABC website since it was originally posted in 2001.

Clearly, someone does not want us to have this information. If you click on the link, it now states, “You’ve requested an abcnews.com page that does not exist.” However, you can easily prove that the article did recently exist. In fact, as Google stores every web page that it has listed for several weeks in their cache, you can still see the article in its original form.

To prove this yourself, go to http://www.google.com first. Type in “Military Drafted Plans to Terrorize US Cities.” You should see that the first entry is the ABC News article to which the previous email linked (see below if there are now two ABC entries on this).

If you click on the link, you will see the ABC message stating that this page “does not exist.” Now, go back to the Google page and look at the bottom right of that ABC entry. You will see two links, “Cached” and “Similar Pages.”

Click on the Cached link, and you will see that the original article recently did exist, and that you can still see and read it in the Google cache.

The WantToKnow.info team presents this information to inspire in you a desire to strengthen democracy and to build a better world together. Our website focuses on providing reliable, verifiable facts which are being hidden from public view. By spreading this important information, each of us can make a difference.

Interestingly enough, the Operation Northwoods article does still exist even on the ABC website. Someone appears to have moved it within three days of when the original email was sent. At least as of the time of writing of this email, the article is available at http://abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=92662&page=1

This moved article will likely also soon appear on the Google search. If this is the case and there are two entries, check the Google entry for http://abcnews.go.com/sections/us/DailyNews/jointchiefs_010501.html to see the original link that was removed.

The link to the declassified military documents on the National Security Archives website at http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/news/20010430/doc1.pdf continues to be active as of this writing. As this website is run independently by George Washington University, this link is less likely to disappear.

Here’s a quote from the ABC article, “America’s top military brass even contemplated causing U.S. military casualties, writing: ‘We could blow up a US ship in Guantanamo Bay and blame Cuba,’ and ‘Casualty lists in US newspapers would cause a helpful wave of national indignation.'”

And here’s a quote from the declassified Operation Northwoods documents: “It is possible to create an incident which will demonstrate convincingly that a Cuban aircraft has attacked and shot down a chartered civil airliner enroute from the United States.”

Even though these documents are over 40 years old, they show without any doubt that the top military chiefs of the US will sacrifice innocent American lives and severely manipulate public opinion in order to achieve their military objectives. Considering this, is it beyond comprehension that similar tactics were used with 9/11?

Northwoods Document Reposted

ABC did a major reorganization of their website recently, probably in the last week. This is certainly an amazing coincidence. It is also most strange that when they moved many of their documents, they replaced them with a page that states, “You’ve requested an abcnews.com page that does not exist.”

This certainly is very poor wording. Important information has been “disappeared” many times in the past. But, for now, the Operation Northwoods documents once more are available on the ABC website.

They stand as amazing, clear evidence of how certain rogue elements in government have conspired not only to manipulate public opinion, but even to kill innocent Americans for the purpose of forwarding their war agenda.

The 15-page Operation Northwoods document is a chilling guide to understand how our military and intelligence leaders think.
