ADHAMIYAH (July 12, 2007) — The American occupation forces significantly destroyed Adhamiyah Commerce Center Complex which includes al-Basaer Newspaper office (official newspaper of AMSI) on Wednesday 11 July 2007.

The residents of the area near to the blast confirmed that a strong voice was heard last night as a result of the explosion at the commercial buildings and large parts of it have been destroyed.

They added that the occupation forces and the government forces had inspected the building and then blown up the centre from the distance, as al-Basaer the official newspaper for the Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq (AMSI) damaged as a result of this explosion.

It is noteworthy that since yesterday the occupation forces and the government started the siege of the city and initiate a process of raids and search with the pretext of the existence of weapons and explosives in the city.

On the other hand flagrant violations which the newspapers and the workers face with still carry out by the occupation, the current government forces and the sectarian militias despite the fact that all the people who talk about democracy at about 150 newspaper publishing at Iraq.

Hundreds of journalists and newspapers have been subjected to the violations by the people who talk about democracy for themselves.

Moreover, the offices and the printing offices of al-Basaer Newspaper had been attacked, prevented, the workers of those offices had been threatened by death on the hand of the sectarian militias especially so-called Mahdi Army members.
