(May 2, 2009) — Motorola’s annual shareholders’ meeting is coming up on May 4th in Chicago, IL. We encourages you to take action and send a message to Moto before and during its meeting.

We’d love to have you join us at the protest that we’re organizing in Chicago, but if you can’t make it, you can still send a message to Motorola’s management. US Campaign supporters have already sent 800 emails demanding Motorola change the way it does business in Palestine/Israel. Help us meet our goal of 2,000 emails by May 4th!

Please use the following actions to get involved in marking Motorola’s shareholder meeting with us.

Send Motorola’s CEO and VP of Investor Relations emails to demand they take action to prevent further use of Motorola products to violate Palestinian rights.

Take action from wherever you are by clicking here to send an email to the Motorola’s executives demanding accountability. If you’ve already taken this action, please click here to ask a friend to send an email.

Motorola’s shareholders’ meeting is sure to be heated, as investors demand to know why the company isn’t turning a profit. We know that part of the answer is that Motorola’s customers are paying attention to Moto’s role in Israel’s crimes against Palestinians.

It’s our job to draw this conclusion for Moto’s management and investors. Click here to send them an email demanding they change their ways in Israel/Palestine. Help us meet our goal of 2,000 emails by clicking here to ask a friend to participate.

In February, Hampshire College divested from Motorola. In March, Radian Records, a music production company in New York, pledged to uphold the Hang Up On Motorola boycott and confirmed that they weren’t using Motorola equipment.

On April 1st, the day after three of our member groups demonstrated at Motorola offices and mobile phone stores, Motorola Israel, Ltd. announced that it would be selling its department responsible for making bomb fuzes for the Israeli military.

Now that we have Moto on the run, we should redouble our efforts. Click here to send an email to Motorola’s management or click here to sign up for a local campaign kit with everything you’ll need to launch the Hang Up On Motorola boycott in your area.

You can also strengthen the Hang Up On Motorola campaign at this critical time by making a tax-deductible contribution in support of our boycott & divestment work. Even a $10 donation will make a difference, paying for us to send a campaign kit to a new Hang Up On Motorola organizer.

If you sponsor three campaign kits with a contribution of $30, we’ll send you a print of the winning entry from our Expressions of Nakba art competition, entitled “Parachutes Falling.”

If you sponsor five new Hang Up On Motorola campaign kits with a donation of $50, then we’ll send you a DVD of the award-winning documentary, “Occupation 101.” For a $100 contribution we’ll send you both “Parachutes Falling” and “Occupation 101.” Click here to support Hang Up On Motorola today.
