Fox News

WASHINGTON (October 20, 2010) — Fox News has learned that Anwar Al-Awlaki, the American Muslim cleric with a worldwide following was invited as a special guest to dine with military brass at the Pentagon within months of the 9/11 attacks. New documents obtained by Fox News, including an FBI interview. Al-Awlaki was invited to the Pentagon as part of the military’s outreach to “moderate Muslim leaders” according to FBI documents.

The American cleric was interviewed at least four times by the FBI in the first week after the attacks but it appears none of this information was relayed to the Pentagon where Awlawi had lunch at the Secretary of the Army’s office. A Defense Department spokesman has declined our request for an interview.

Al-Awlaki: We Are Against Terrorism.
US Killings of 1 Million Iraqis Do Not Justify the Killing of a Single American in New York City

PBS/ NewsHour & YaMuqallibAlQulub

NEW YORK (October 2001) — “We need to bring an end to this war. We, as Muslims, want to bring an end to terrorism more than anyone else.

The fact that the US has administered the deaths and homicides of over one million civilians in Iraq; the fact that the US is supporting the deaths and killings of thousands of Palestinians, does not justify the killing of one US civilian in New York City or Washington, DC. And the deaths of 6,000 civilians in New York City or Washington, DC does not justify the death of one civilian in Afghanistan.…

There are reasons for this resentment. The US is the only reason for the survival of some governments in the Middle East. Governments that have some of the worst track records of human rights in the world. And these are the allies of the United States in the Middle East. Muslim governments, but they are dictatorships – tyrannical, totalitarian regimes. And if it were not the US that was backing them, they would crumble, one after another. The US needs to support freedom and human rights in the Muslim world. Because the people in the Muslim world not only saw America as their enemy when they saw America supporting these devils. They had nothing against America. They are concerned about what’s going on in their own countries.

Anwar Al Awlaki Interview (Part 3 of 5)

“The war today between the Muslims and the Americans is not a battle for petrol, is not a battle for water, is not a battle for a land or for a sea, is not a battle for Palestine Iraq or Afghanistan only. Yes, these are all included in the reasons for the conflict but the war basically is a war of Tawheed. *

“Now America wants to finish Islam as it was revealed to Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and they want to come with a duplicate Islam…. That’s why the war should not be taken in a narrow manner or as a financial, worldly manner, the war is greater than that and that is why the scholars should have a bigger role….”

* Literally Tawheed means “unification” (making something one) or “asserting oneness”, and it comes from the Arabic verb (wahhada) which itself means to unite, unify or consolidate. Tawheed is the most important Islamic belief. It implies that everything in existence originates from the one and only Creator, who is also the Sustainer and the sole Source of Guidance. Tawhid tells man that Allah is not born, nor is anyone born of Him. He has no son or daughter. Human beings are His subjects.
