Tens of thousands gather to honour the more than 100,000 who died in the atomic bombing by the US.
HIROSHIMA, (August 6, 2012) — Tens of thousands of people have gathered in Japan to mark the 67th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima by the US.
An estimated 100,000 people were killed on the day of the bombing and about 40,000 more deaths were attributed to the bomb later in the year, including people killed in the explosion and later due to radiation and injuries.
