What if Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin had met in Helsinki and actually agreed on a path of action that would move the planet towards peace by pledging to disarm, abolish nuclear arsenals, commit to diplomatic resolution of differences, and join the rest of the world’s nations in a cooperative effort to address climate change and avoid the calamities that are already destroying innocent lives around the world?

Here is a proposal that has been offered to Putin and Trump. It awaits their signatures.

USA-RUSSIA Summit. The Great Peace Charter XXI
Peace From Harmony.org

HELSINKI (July 16, 2018) — We, the leaders of the United States and Russia, which possess 96% of the world’s nuclear weapons, half of which are on permanent alert, capable to destroy the planet Earth life during 30 minutes, realizing our key responsibility for preventing a mad military catastrophe prepared 100%, are compelled to recognize the extreme necessity for our national interests and humanity as a whole of a radical peacemaking nonviolent solution, which is expressed by our joint principled Resolution: “Great Peace CharterXXI.”

The Great Peace Charter XXI, abbreviated as GPC-XXI, is the beginning of conscious, comprehensive peacebuilding in the 21st century in the long-term perspective of several generations of humankind, excluding the possibility of its global military catastrophe.

GPC-XXI defines the following fundamental peaceful purposes and their instruments:

1. The ultimate goal of our century is to end the institution of war through the scientific understanding of the nonviolent harmonious sources of global peace and guaranteed universal security that are ensured by general complete disarmament and the complete demilitarization of all spheres of world social production during the 50 years of the 21st century,

2. The primary goal for the next 5-10 years is nuclear disarmament, “nuclear zero”, requiring for all nuclear weapons immediate taken off hair trigger alertand its reduction by 20-10% annually under the control of the IAEA. This is the first practical goal and priority responsibility of the leaders of the US and Russia leaders before their peoples and humanity in a whole.

3. We focus on consciously harmonious political, economic and trade relations, excluding the world’s “trade and sanctions wars,” helping to reduce political tensions instead of exacerbating it and providing the most effective solution to the partial geopolitical problems of Syria, Iran, Donbass, Afghanistan, Israel-Palestine and similar.

4. We will appoint to September 2019, in an expanded format, the next “Global Peace Summit” with the participation of all 9 nuclear powers, the EU, the UN and the world civil society in the person of the most deserved peacemaking nongovernmental organizations working for at least 10 years, uniting peacemakers not less than from 30 countries and possessing fundamental peacebuilding ideas/concepts, fixed in publications.

This format is dictated by the grandiose peacebuilding mission of the 21st century, defined by the “Great Peace Charter” and ensures democracy in the preparation, adoption and execution of its general “Roadmap for Global Peacebuilding”.

5. We agreed to create in our governments the “Peace Departments” as a permanent organizational and governing tool for the realization of the peacebuilding goals recognized in GPC-XXI and designed to ensure the implementation of its general Roadmap, detailed by decades and years of its implementation.

The parties signatures:
The United States President, Donald Trump: ______
President of Russia, Vladimir Putin: _____

GHA notes.
1. GPC-XXI integrates, relies and implements the great peacemaking covenants of the past:
John Kennedy: “Mankind must put an end to war before war puts an end to mankind.”

Mahatma Gandhi: “Nonviolence [harmony, peace] is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind. It is mightier than the mightiest weapon of destruction devised by the ingenuity of man. Nonviolence is not the inheritance of cowardice, it is always heroism.”

Nicholas Roerich: “Peace through Culture, and there is no other way. True, high culture brings peace for all the world.”

Albert Einstein: “Peace can not be achieved through violence, it can only be attained through understanding” [science]; and “We shall require substantially new manner thinking if mankind is to survive.”

Fyodor Dostoevsky: “We [Russia] not hostile and friendly, with a full love accepted into our soul the geniuses of other nations, all together, without making tribal differences. For the true Russian, Europe is as dear as Russia itself because our fate is all world fraternal aspiration to reunite the peoples by the great general harmony and fraternal final consent.”

Martin Luther King: “We must shift the arms race into a peace race.”

Leo Tolstoy: “In the hands of war is billions of money, millions of obedient troops and in our hands is only one, but the mightiest tool in the world — the truth.”

Benjamin Rush (one of the USA founding fathers): [The fundamental idea of the “Peace Department” in the US government, not implemented so far]

The cited covenants are intellectual freshness and a reminder to the leaders of the United States and Russia of the greatest peacemaking ideas from the cultural heritage of these countries if these leaders want to preserve and continue it and take their place in this row instead of destroying this heritage and the infamous glory of the 21st century Herostrators.

2. The basis for the proposed Resolution of the summit “The Great Peace Charter XXI” is the 65th Project of the GHA and the WGHA, supported by 72 peacemaking leaders from 27 countries, including three Nobel Peace Prize laureates and published here in two languages:
In Russian: http://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=ru_c&key=778
In English: http://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=834

3. Two conditions under which similar radical nonviolent peace Charter for the 21st century will be adopted without fail, if it is not accepted by Trump-Putin:
— After a nuclear war, if someone survives, it will be adopted in a more radical format and the terms of decisions to liberate from all weapons, nuclear first and foremost.

— In 10-20 years, when new young and peaceful leaders of the United States and Russia will come who have the intelligence, courage and political will to recognize this Charter and begin its implementation, having created primarily the “Peace Ministry” in their governments for this long-term constant goal.

4. A comparison of the summit adopted Resolution o¬n July 16 with the proposed by world civil society will show the degree of peacemaking readiness of the two leaders and the two leading nuclear powers to prevent a global military catastrophe and put an end to the war.
