World BEYOND War

A Global 3-day Conference on
Nonviolent Resistance

To Invasions, Occupations, and Military Violence

(September 2023) — You say you’re against war, but what’s the alternative?

Managing conflict nonviolently is one of the three core strategies of World BEYOND War’s alternative global security system. But when the rule of law and diplomacy are failing and violence is underway, both seasoned activists and newcomers alike often question whether unarmed resistance can be effective against military invasion, occupation, and war.

Throughout three days of virtual panels, training, and discussion sessions, #NoWar2023 will make the case for the efficacy of nonviolent resistance as a tool for conflict resolution, highlighting case studies from around the world of unarmed civilian based defense against invasions, occupations, and dictatorships.

Hosted virtually on the Zoom Events platform, World BEYOND War’s #NoWar2023 annual global conference brings together peace and anti-war individuals and organizations from around the world to share, reflect, strategize, and organize towards the abolition of war.

Blue Scarves for International Peace Day
Following the lead of the Afghan Peace Volunteers, World BEYOND War encourages everyone to wear sky blue scarves on the International Day of Peace (September 21) to represent our collective wish to live in peace under the same blue sky.

#NoWar2023 Standard and Peace Hero tickets include a complimentary blue scarf!

Host a #NoWar 2023 Watch Party
Host a #NoWar2023 in-person watch party at your home, library, place of worship, local peace & justice center, or other venue! Use the watch party as a conversation starter about peace/anti-war organizing in your community. Ideally this event can become a springboard for starting a local World BEYOND War chapter together!

How to host a gathering: When you register for the conference, check the box to indicate your interest in hosting an in-person watch party. We will follow up to send you a toolkit with instructions for how to organize the watch party, flyers to print, and suggested group activities. We’ll help you maximize the watch party gathering as a launching point for starting a WBW chapter in your area.
