ACTION ALERT: Tell Congress to Reject Trump’s
$1.5 TRILLION Weapons and War Budget
Win Without War
(May 6, 2026) — When Trump says it’s “not possible” for the federal government to fund Medicare, Medicaid, and child care, what he’s telling us is: There’s plenty of money to go around, just not for you.
Now, a proposed $1.5 TRILLION Pentagon budget request presents a choice as clear as day — and it’s one Congress, not Trump, gets to decide. That means we, as their constituents, have a powerful say in what happens next.
So you choose: Do you want our government to spend hundreds of billions more of our taxpayer dollars on bombs and bullets to sow violence across the world, OR put those funds toward expanding healthcare access, combating climate change, ending homelessness, and funding more priorities that we know will actually keep people safe?
We say: Not another dime for war and bloodshed, for Pentagon waste and weapons contractor payouts. If you’re with us, the time to act is right now. As weapons lobbyists race to the Capitol to build support for this outrageous budget, we need to get louder than the war hawks by sending lawmakers an urgent, unmistakable message that $1.5 trillion is a nonstarter.
Lockheed Martin’s CEO recently told investors that the Trump administration has created a “golden opportunity” for the company. Weapons industry PACs have already spent $4.7 million in political donations this year to keep the cycle of lucrative Pentagon contracts flowing.[1]
In addition to a $1.5 TRILLION Pentagon topline, Trump is proposing cutting $73 billion from key housing, health, and education programs to give them what they’ve paid for. That’s things like:
- Wasting well north of $25 BILLION in Trump’s illegal war on Iran.[2]
- $4.7 BILLION for lawless killings in Venezuela and off the coasts of South America.[3]
- A $52 MILLION vanity-driven “Department of War” rebrand.[4]
All at the expense of unnecessary hardship at home and abroad for people who are already struggling to put food on the table, pay for rising costs, and keep their families safe.
It’s why people across the country are ready to break this cycle of war and violence. A plurality of voters want to end war in Iran. The U.S. public opposes the war by a 59-30 margin, and 61% of Americans think the U.S. made a mistake by going to war.
Bankrolling Trump’s violent ambitions won’t make anyone safer, Gar, so we must do everything we can to block this deadly weapons and war budget. Will you make an impact by contacting your lawmakers today?
Tell Congress: Reject Trump’s
$1.5 Trillion Pentagon Budget Request!
Budgets are moral documents that reveal what we prioritize and value. Trump’s budget would push spending on weapons and war to unprecedented levels to absorb the costs of unauthorized violence — in Iran, Nigeria, Yemen, across Latin America, and elsewhere — into long-term spending.
In the face of the largest Pentagon budget request yet, it’s time we reshape those values and prioritize building the more peaceful world we all want and deserve.
Thank you for working for peace,
The Win Without War team
