(May 18, 2026) — Thousands of pro-Palestinian demonstrators marched through Berlin on Nakba Day, demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and an end to German arms exports to Israel, as clashes erupted between protesters and police in riot gear.

Activists accused Germany of enabling Israel’s military campaign and criticised NATO and the United States during the tense rally, while counter-protesters waving Israeli flags also gathered nearby.

The protests come amid growing international scrutiny over Berlin’s support for Israel and ongoing legal challenges linked to arms exports at the International Court of Justice.
