(August 11, 2026) — For 64 years the U.S. government has vindictively and illegally punished the people of Cuba with an economic blockade, claiming the illegal purpose of overthrowing the Cuban government, but accomplishing the by now relentlessly predictable result of inflicting suffering, illness, and starvation.

For the past 35 years, the United Nations General Assembly has annually passed a near-unanimous resolution condemning the U.S. blockade. But the United Nations is rigged so that effective action can be vetoed in the Security Council by the U.S. government.
The people of the United States and the people of Cuba would be happy to open travel, trade, and friendship. But the U.S. government is now using Cuba as a bizarre excuse for cracking down on the First Amendment rights of the U.S. public. And U.S. corporate media is blaming Cuba for its suffering while Trump pressures its government with the threat of yet another war.
