Every member of Congress must loudly condemn the raid on her home and stand against Trump’s weaponization of the Justice Department.
Donald Trump has sent federal agents to raid the home of one of his fiercest critics: Rep. Ilhan Omar. [1]
For over a decade, Trump has targeted Rep. Omar. Now, he has deployed Department of Homeland Security agents to her home to intimidate her and her family. Her response to this violation from the very same department that killed two of her constituents in Minneapolis was clear, and we’re right there with her: “I will not be silenced.” [2]
This is what happens when Trump staffs our government with cronies and sycophants. We warned that Trump’s personal lawyer Todd Blanche – now in charge of the Justice Department – would continue weaponizing it against Trump’s political opponents.
If members of Congress stay quiet as one of their colleagues is targeted three weeks before an election, Trump and Blanche will take that as permission to keep going. Every member, from both parties, needs to speak up – loudly and publicly.

DHS Raided My House Yesterday Morning

(October 13, 2026) – Donald Trump’s fascism and abuse of power has now come to my literal front door.
Yesterday morning, DHS agents raided and searched my home in the DC area as the latest step in their ludicrous, partisan investigation into my immigration status. Donald Trump’s fascism and abuse of power has now come to my literal front door.
I have been in Trump’s crosshairs for years, but now he is escalating in a desperate attempt to drag me and the entire progressive movement down ahead of the midterms.
It’s no accident that this raid comes three weeks before an election where I’m on the ballot.
This is part of the fascist playbook to rile up Trump’s die‑hard supporters and give them a big distraction in advance of the midterms. With this obviously political investigation, Trump is telling his voters: ‘Ignore the price of gas, ignore the war in Iran, ignore that you’re losing your healthcare — we want you to get angry about this instead.”
Throughout his presidency, Trump has weaponized the DOJ to target his political opponents, manufacturing charges that have been roundly dismissed by court after court. And I’m not even the first member of Congress to be targeted. The point is to waste everyone’s time and resources, and generate negative headlines for his opponents.
I will repeat what I have long said: This is a sham investigation, and Trump’s escalation is only further proof that he is willing to use the power of the federal government to try to intimidate and silence anyone who stands up to him. It’s up to us to make sure it doesn’t work.
In just a few weeks we can strike a major blow at Trump’s fascist agenda and end this era of authoritarianism by taking Congress back from MAGA. Today, as I stand in the breach of Trump’s endless attacks and immense power to do harm, I’m asking for your support:

(October 8, 2026) Trump’s DHS agents raided Ilhan Omar’s house in a highly unusual move that is being widely condemned as a dangerous and authoritarian attack on a political opponent.
We have been warning that Trump has been targeting Ilhan since he first got back into office, calling her “garbage,” targeting her district with ICE, and constantly making racist attacks on her and all Somali-Americans.
Trump’s administration then claimed to be conducting an investigation into Ilhan’s immigration status, a claim they’ve made for months now, but this is a serious escalation by this fascist government.
We all know that Ilhan Omar is a proud American citizen who came to this country legally as a young refugee. But this raid did not happen because of Ilhan’s immigration paperwork.
Make no mistake — this raid happened just weeks before the midterm elections in an attempt to intimidate, silence, and punish Ilhan Omar and our entire progressive movement that seeks to take power back from Trump and MAGA on November 3rd.
We have an obligation to fight back against this ludicrous, partisan investigation, and show that we will not let Trump’s abuse of power go unchecked. We have to organize for a massive progressive victory at the ballot box so we can take back Congress from the MAGA far-right.
