ACTION ALERT / To End ICE Shootings, End Ice
Roots Action
(October 10, 2026) — ICE keeps shooting people. There is not some grander purpose being served to justify this. ICE needs to be abolished.
Thursday in New York City, an ICE agent with no identifying uniform shot a man in the neck while he was in his car with his five-year-old. The ICE agent, pretending to be a construction worker, shot seven bullets in a public place in the afternoon.
“When I was in Marble Hill last night,” Congressional candidate Darializa Avila Chevalier wrote on Friday about a Thursday-night protest, “I saw NYPD officers rapidly escalating violence. As I was trying to de-escalate, I was shoved to the ground by an officer. I witnessed unmarked law enforcement cars hitting protestors . . . . The NYPD spent more time protecting a militia that just shot someone than protecting New Yorkers.”
Tell Congress to Abolish ICE
We do not need a federal agency to do lawless kidnappings. The United States is saturated with police departments to handle actual crimes. ICE serves primarily to generate fear. The antidote is not yet more Congressional inaction. The antidote is courage.
Individual murderers should be prosecuted. Police departments that serve ICE instead of the public should be held accountable. But ICE should be abolished.

ACTIO: Tell Congress now, no matter how many times you’ve told them before: Abolish ICE Immediately!
