We Just Sued the Trump Regime Over Its
Corrupt Mismanagement of a National Park
Robert Weissman & Lisa Gilbert / Public Citizen
(October 10, 2026) — It can be hard to keep up with the avalanche of corruption that is the Trump administration.
For Example:
Did you know that the Trump regime is trying to transfer part of Yosemite National Park to a private developer — whose chief executive donated to Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign — for a private road to luxury “cabins” it wants to build right on the edge of the park?
- It may sound like we’re making that up. Sadly, we are not.
- Yosemite and the other 62 national parks belong to the American people — each and every one of us.
- They are not the personal property of Donald Trump. They are not his to parcel out to MAGA loyalists.
- As it happens, Public Citizen launched an investigation under the Freedom of Information Act to find out exactly what’s going on at Yosemite — including communications between the man the regime put in charge of the park and top Trump officials back in Washington, D.C.
- Not surprisingly, the administration has been stonewalling.
- So we just filed a lawsuit to compel the regime to produce the information we are seeking in full compliance with the law.
Exposing the regime’s corrupt mismanagement of natural treasures is just one part of the work Public Citizen has been doing since Trump returned to power. That includes 53 lawsuits (so far) against the administration and numerous investigations under the Freedom of Information Act.
