No US Nuclear Technology to Saudi Arabia

(October 15, 2026) — This July, the U.S. and Saudi Arabia signed a civilian nuclear agreement, giving the Saudis access to the U.S. nuclear technology they would need to build their own civilian nuclear program–even though Saudi leaders have publicly stated that they would pursue a nuclear weapons program if Iran gets the bomb.

This is an obvious, preventable step toward the emergence of a tenth nuclear-weapons country.

But there’s still time for Congress to intervene. Tell your senators and representative to enforce the law and stop this deal, even if you’ve already told them!

ACTION: Send this email — and add your comments to it — today.

In addition to emailing Congress at the link above, you can phone your representative’s and senators’ offices at this number (all you have to know is your address and what you want your Congress members to do): (202) 224-3121

The Letter
I am writing to you as your constituent to ask that you take all possible steps to prevent the recent agreement with Saudi Arabia on sharing nuclear technology.

Under Section 123 of the Atomic Energy Act, Congressional approval is required to transfer nuclear technology to a foreign country. Further, it prohibits this transfer if the recipient refuses to sign a “123 agreement,” establishing safeguards that make it harder for that country to develop a nuclear-weapons program.

Saudi Arabia has refused to agree to these safeguards, and its leadership has stated publicly that it plans to acquire a nuclear weapon if Iran ever builds one. Further, Rep. Brad Sherman has affirmed that the classified version of the deal is incomplete, with a blank page labeled “to be filled in later.”

This is a disaster waiting to happen, and a mockery of representative government. Please do everything you can to block this agreement.
